Katie-May Ellis
Hygienist/Therapist Registered DHDT
Katie is our resident dually-qualified Hygienist/Therapist, she began her dental career in 2005 qualifying as a dental nurse in the British Army. In 2014 she began training at Kings College in London, Graduating from the Royal College of Surgeons.
Whilst Katie provides comprehensive hygiene care to our patients, she also carries out additional treatments under her role as a therapist. The treatments include:
- Children’s dentistry including fissure sealants, Hall crowns, fillings and extractions.
- Recording radiographs (x-rays), photographs and impressions.
- Adult dentistry, placing restorations and temporally re cementing crowns.
- Working with your dentist during the tooth whitening process.
- Providing preventive oral care to reduce the risk of disease including smoking cessation.
- Carrying out oral cancer screening.
Katie believes in a patient centred and individualistic approach to dental hygiene and has a special interest in treating patients with dental phobia and also sees patients under direct access.
On a personal note, Katie is an enthusiastic baker and amateur gardener, who, enjoys her time off walking in the West Sussex countryside with her family.
