At Home teeth whitening

Teeth whitening is a simple and effective way to lighten your teeth. Teeth whitening treatment will give your smile a renewed sparkle and can help improve your self-confidence. Tooth colour is a very individual thing, it darkens as we get older and is affected by staining substances such as coffee, tea, fizzy drinks and smoking.

Teeth whitening treatments lift stains from the enamel and work by allowing a very small amount of whitening gel to come into contact with the teeth. The gel then reacts with the surface of the tooth, gently removing discolourations and creating a beautiful, pearly white smile to be proud of.

Boutique Whitening
There are many products available to whiten your teeth. At Walberton Dental Surgery Ltd we have chosen to use the Boutique Tooth Whitening System, a system that allows you to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home.

We will examine your teeth and gums to make sure your teeth are ready and take moulds for your bespoke whitening trays. Your unique mould is sent to our laboratory where our technicians will precision manufacture whitening trays to fit your mouth very precisely.

While you wait for your trays, start using the specially formulated, extra-sensitive whitening toothpaste to get your pearly whites properly prepped.

Collect your trays from us and start using them at home with the Boutique whitening gels. In two to three weeks, you can unveil your beautiful new smile!

white fillings

Would you like to replace your silver-coloured fillings with a white filling that will match your natural tooth colour?

Also known as composite fillings, white fillings are made from a tooth-coloured material that restores the appearance of a previously filled tooth, giving your teeth a more natural look. A completely safe procedure, this can be used for new fillings or to replace any old metal fillings, giving your teeth a more natural overall appearance. If you are interested in replacing silver-coloured fillings, please contact the practice and arrange an appointment with one of our dentists.

dental veneers

If your smile is discoloured or you have cracked or chipped teeth dental veneers can help restore or change their appearance.

Dental veneers are wafer thin yet strong and durable laminates that mimic the appearance of natural teeth and the overall cosmetic results can be life-changing. Made from a range of materials, dental veneers can be shaped to perfectly mask and disguise imperfections such as staining and misalignments of your natural teeth. The procedure is minimal, and in some cases non invasive and you can have any number of veneers - from just one to hide a single discoloured tooth to a whole set.

Dental onlays

A Dental Onlay can be used to restore a decayed or damaged tooth, covering the whole chewing surface, an onlay can be made from various materials. The procedure involves the removal of the old filling or decay and preparation of the tooth, in readiness for the fitting of the onlay.  We then take an impression of the cavity so we can create the custom-made onlay. Whilst it is being made we will fit a temporary filling, when your onlay is ready we will remove the temporary filling and fit the onlay. The treatment is usually complete within two sessions.

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding (also known as tooth bonding or dental bonding) is the use of composite material that is then bonded to reshape, rebuild, or fill damaged teeth. It is a cosmetic procedure which has a huge amount of potential for different kinds of repairs.

The treatment itself can normally be done in just one appointment with your dentist. It requires your dentist to first match the colour of the composite resin with the rest of your teeth. This will ensure that the smile will be consistent and look as natural as possible. The resin will then be placed onto the area required and moulded into the correct shape. The finishing touches will consist of curing the composite resin and refining the tooth further.

Composite bonding can also be used to address staining in teeth. It can be used in combination with teeth whitening to enhance your smile even further.
If composite bonding is planned, you will be recommended to have your teeth whitened firstly. The composite resin will be selected to match your teeth colour, so it is advisable to get them to your desired shade before composite bonding is carried out.
